Piano

They dropped a crate off the truck onto our driveway. We all heard the discordant scream. Loud and clear.

Our piano.

Wrapped with care, months before, during our year in the USA.

Placed in a wooden crate. Nailed shut.

Loaded into a ship container with the rest of our belongings.

Me at the piano–before it was crated and shipped.

Spiritual markers

Remember spiritual markers.

Turning points in personal history.

Moments of growth when God gives wisdom. And courage to take the next step. Boldness to enter something new.

Remember significant signposts in His Word.

And give thanks.

Unknown

College student on a flight. Me. Heading to the unknown.

Meeting up with the rest of the team in Seattle. Then we fly together across the Pacific Ocean to Taiwan. There we’re scheduled to serve for ten weeks in various cities.

Suddenly, people on the plane start exclaiming. Calling others to look out the windows.

Clear, blue summer sky.

And we’re flying over snow-topped Mt. Rainier.

Magnificent.
